A TRADITIONAL BURMESE RUBY ADIGAI (NECKLACE), tamil nadu, c. 1870, set with a graduating order, with Burmese cabochon rubies, with a round flower pattern pendant and 6 gold beads suspended. There are 21 rubies on either side of the pendant, with the central pendant set with 9 rubies. All the cabochon rubies are of a very fine quality and of a uniform deep pigeon blood color and luster, with a total of 54 rubies weighing 74 carats approximately, set in 22 carat gold, weighing 51.43 grams. The Adigai comes with its original teakwood box.
