A masterful watercolour work by the artist Satya Ghosh, this painting evokes the images of the silent film era in 20th century Bengal. Fashioned after the celebrated actresses of the time, the figure stands in a graceful pose, as if frozen in a dance movement. The background setting, not unlike the film sets of the time, appears to be that of a temple, hence the title 'Pujarini'.
