A fine quality painting depicting the 'Dancing Nataraja', Shiva in Tandav - the dance that signifies the creation and end of all things. As Lord of the Dance, his feet trample a demon and other figures from the Hindu pantheon such as Ganesha with Brahma, Parvati and Vishnu among other Devathas look on, with sacred Nandi in the middle, with arched canopy on top. Floating heavenly beings watch from a high and sages and mortals from below, as all eyes are on the Destroyer as he dances to preserve the rhythm of life, the cycle of birth and death. Intricately embossed kundan work over gold leaf, embellished with semi-precious stones, glazed and in original wooden frame.
