"To express my authentic feelings about reality, I have to interpret it, I have to conceptualise it. The previous reality gets transformed in the laboratory of the mind. Then, I bring it out on the canvas. I am a good sports man. I like things which have a lot of rhythm and energy.”

Sunil Das was a brilliant draftsman and was able to convey complex human situations with intense emotion and poignancy. Known for his studies of bulls and horses, the canvases convey the animal intensity with the most spontaneous of strokes and masterful execution.
