Roger Michael Humphrey Binny was born on the 19th of July 1955, Bangalore, Karnataka. A very good all-rounder, his performance in the 1983 World Cup was much appreciated. He was the highest wicket-taker (18 wickets) in the tournament and in the 1985 World Series Cricket Championship in Australia he took 17 wickets. Binny started his International career at the KSCA Stadium in Bangalore, his home ground, against Pakistan in the first Test of the 1979 home series. Binny is happily married to his childhood sweetheart Cynthia and has three children: Laura, Lisa and Stuart. Stuart played cricket for Karnataka.
