"I wanted to paint on subjects that belong to me and were a source of inspiration"
The paintings of Reddeppa Naidu are a sought of spiritual quest; like many of his contemporaries, he explored the traditional art forms and motifs to create a style which is traditionalist on the surface but modernist in the approach.
Naidu, with his strong lines and orchestrated colours tried to bring varied expressions infused with the forms he creates. His famed 'Mahabharata' series dealt with the human frailties and attempts at overcoming them. He drew influence from Indian temples and mythology in his works.
