Ravi Kumar Kashi is one of Bangalore's most promising young talents. He was born in 1968 in Bangalore and studied art at the College of Fine Arts, Bangalore and followed it up with his Masters in Fine Art, specialising in print-making, from Maharaja Sayajirao University , Baroda in 1990. In addition he holds a Masters degree in English Literature from Mysore University.
Kashi has been the recipient of a number of awards including the Young Artist Award from the Kejriwal Trust (1999) and the Charles Wallace India Grant to study at the Glasgow School of Art (2001). He is co-editor of the Kannada art & culture magazine 'Sanchaya' and also writes for other Kannada magazines. Kashi also contributes regularly to the art columns of the Times of India and Deccan Herald newspapers. He is a visiting faculty at the Department of Architecture at the R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore.
Kashi's works are in many private and public collections including the Lalitkala Academy, New Delhi, Modern Art Gallery, New Delhi and the Department of Oriental Antiquities, British Museum.
