Description Geographique De L’inde by M. Jean Bernoulli, atlas volume with 71 folding maps, plans and landscapes of Indian cities and forts mostly from the atlas of Tieffenthaler but also including those from James Rennell and others. 6 folding sheets of descriptions relating to the contents bound at the end.The first map shows Tieffenthaler’s map of western India and Afghanistan, followed by 38 folding views of Agra, fortress of Almora, Deeg, Bharatpur, Narwar, Allahabad, Benares, Kashipur, Sitakund, fortress of Kalinjar, Datia, Gwalior, Ajaigarh, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, fortress of Rae Bareli, fortress of Ranthambore, course of the river Ghagra, Asirgarh, fortress of Potala where the Grand Lama lives, Sultanganj, Rajmahal, Murshidabad, Chunargarh, Motijhil, Cassimbazar, Hugli Bandar, Shahjahanpur, Chandernagore, Daulatabad, Hyderabad & Golconda. These are followed by a folding map of the territory of Tanjore and Madurai, 3 very large folding chronological tables, a very large folding map by Tieffentaller showing the course of the rivers Ganges and Ghagra and also showing the Lake Mansarovar and other sundry folding maps showing the confluence of rivers. These are followed by a map of Hindoostan by James Rennell [1782] copied in Berlin by Benjamin Glasbach in 1785, in 3 large folding sheets. Followed by a folding map by James Rennell [copied by C.C. Glasbach in Berlin in 1785] of the Ganges from the Kaliganga to its confluence with the Meghna or the Brahmaputra, the Brahmaputra from the head of the Luckia or Bannar river to Assam, 1785, map of the principal roads and divisions of Hindoostan with a table of distances, plan of the fortifications of Patna and the fort of Allahabad, plans of the forts of Chunar and Monghyr, plan of the military operations at Calcutta when attacked and taken by Siajuddaulah, the mausoleum at Aurangabad, Tuticorin, Pagoda and the coast of Malabar.
