Kapil Dev Ramlal Nikhanj,born on 6th January 1959,Chandigarh, better known as Kapil Dev, is a former Indian cricketer who was an all-rounder unparalled in skill and regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders of all time. He was named the Indian Cricketer of the Century by Wisden in 2002. Kapil Dev coached the Indian Cricket team for a short stint of 10 months between October 1999 and August 2000. He is the best pace bowler India has ever produced and the best all-rounder as well.The 1983 World Cup was won with the captain leading from the front with his all-round example. Another of his feats was him surpassing Hadlee's World Record aggregate of Test wickets. He amassed a total of 434 wickets in Test Cricket.
