Justin Ponmany uses a variety of materials to put across his idea. His works have been dealing with a lot of issues centering on urbanization and its effects.
He plays with the idea of visual codes and how it gets ingrained into our cultural atmosphere and uses materials like plastic and talks about the naturalization of this material into our material culture. He takes up photographic and print images and tries to interpret them in a manner different from the very source and thereby creating a new set of relations with the image he referred to. The middle class culture of consumerisation is a repeated reference he turns to by looking into the neon sign and luring public displays.
