The works of Akhilesh are sensations about the organisation and patterning of colours and lines. In essence it is about the art of painting itself. Everything dwells within the surface, correlations wander outside and return back to the same angular lines and voluminous colours.
Unlike other traditionalists, Akhilesh's works are not analogies and derived motifs from culture. In his works spirituality and transcendence is attained in contemplation through the visual journey or the painting itself. His abstract compositions have freshness and a distinct "representational" language of structured geometry that combines lines, colours and tones. His works reflect an emergent desire for regulating order and he is known for building up a grid of linear compositions with a touch of dynamic equilibrium, refusing to lend the typical linear characteristics and this is where the distinct features of his works stand out.
