Born in 1972, Chintan Upadhyay completed his Masters in Fine Arts from the Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda in 1997. He has held a number of solo shows in India and abroad. He lives and works in Mumbai.

His above painting titled "Smart Alec" is a depiction of designer babies, their bodies painted with fragments from Rajasthan's miniature paintings. The painting is a depiction of nostalgic traditional imagery meeting cyborg in timeless zones of hyper reality.
