The surrender of two sons of Tippoo Sultan - Major General Baird ordered the Sultan to appear and was informed he was not in the palace but that his two sons would surrender themselves. Major Allen then went into the palace and shortly returned with the two princes who were received by the general with the greatest kindness and humanity.
