AN IMPRESSIVE SET OF SIX BERLIN SILVER SERVING DISHES, c. 1897, comprising three dinner plates, one vegetable plate, one meat dish and a large oval salver, each with a scalloping border of acanthus leaves on a raised rim, each plate is marked at back with inscription ‘W. Baumann, Berlin’ with one of them marked as ‘Gebr Somme Nachf’ [Jacques Somme (1768 - 1823) was a jeweller from Breslau, Germany (present day Wroclaw, Poland].
