A VERY FINE PAIR OF INDIAN SILVER AND GOLD GILTED CEREMONIAL CHAIRS, 19th century, with heavy silver embossed carving with floral patterning throughout the front and back, the conjoined ‘C’ scroll backs each with an intricately carved, decorative floral central boss, open arms, bold cabriole front legs with lion paw feet, and plush red velvet fabric seats that are hand-embroidered in gold thread and inter-sewed with real Basra pearls, rubies, emeralds and cats eye in a running floral design, with a central motif of a flower pot, surrounded with an oval border.
