A Talish Long Rug, Southeast Caucasus, late 19th C. The field with diagonal stripes in ivory, indigo and brick red, the borders with latched motifs and trefoils in green, brick red, mid blue and ivory. Coloured delightfully with diagonal stripes and numerous filler elements, it probably spent a good part of its life hanging on a wall as evidenced by the rings sown behind the top end. An elegant wide ground, main border filled with rosettes and shrub motifs, surrounded by a narrow border containing a tiny beach ball flowers within square boxes.
