                    A SPECTACULAR GOLD, DIAMOND, RUBY AND EMERALD STUDDED LAKSHMI TEMPLE, south india, c. 1960, custom-made, elegant and profusely encrusted with exotic English cut diamonds, Burmese rubies and an exquisitely large Columbian emerald of excellent colour and clarity set as a backdrop to the goddess Lakshmi, who is seated on a lotus carved out of a Burmese ruby and a half moon-shaped diamond. The solid gold temple has an arched column and a gopuram made with two horns, set with two large diamonds, rubies, emeralds and flat diamonds all over. The Columbian emerald weighs 127 carats approximately, the Burmese rubies weigh 58 carats approximately and the diamonds weigh 28 carats approximately, set in 22 carat gold, weighing 434 grams.
