A Luri Rug, Southwest Persia, late 19th C. A rare and large Luri rug from the Fars district of Southwest Persia. The rug is filled with crab like iconography across the entire field and appears to be related to the weavings of the Shekarlu Qashqai tribe. A beautiful triple border system, including two surrounding Luri scrolling vine flower borders encasing a gorgeous multicoloured barber-pole border.
