A Luri Rug, Southwest Persia, late 19th C. An unusual large Luri rug filled with colourful botehs arranged in a circumscribed rhomboid diagonals format. A range of glorious colours and soft high altititude wool provide remarkable sheen to this weaving. Two classic scrolling vine minor borders protect a diagonal stacked squares border also sometime seen in certain South Caucasian weavings.
