                        Details
A Kurdish Rug, Northwest Persia, late 19th C. A very attractive Kurdish long rug with a clear Caucasian influence. Probably woven by Kurds of the Southern Caucases or Northern Iran. The field is filled with shields, flowers, bushes and abstract animal figures. Oxidation of the brown field colour vividly sets off the three dimensional colourful iconography across the rug. Yellow major border circumscribed by the classic mountain peak minor.
