A Bergama Yatak or Sleeping Rug, Anatolian, mid to late 19th C. A very rare long piled Yatak or sleeping rug from the Anatolian Bergama area. The rug has the classic composition known among Bergama rugs, with a central star like medallion, capped at the top and bottom with sectioned half medallions, flanked, in turn, by four octagonal medallions at each of the four corners of the central composition. The three borders surrounding the rug are complemented by a border-like surround of circular rosettes around the central drawing. The top and bottom ends of the rug are preserved with long red kilims ends. Beautiful range of colours.
